This roundtable considers current scholarship on nineteenth-century serials, including methodologies and geographies—from Dickens to Southworth, and to transnational circulations, from Trollope’s novels in Australia to Hardy’s in the United States. We focus on a particular novel’s issues, readers’ responses, breaks in serial form, themes of installments, and serials' popularity.
